Having been raised by family members with various careers in the medical field, to become a health care professional has always been my dream. Additionally, I am passionate about the service of others and the alleviation of suffering.

 

I grew up in Haiti and, after high school, was accepted to the dental school at the State University in Port-Au-Prince. Unfortunately, just before my expected graduation date, the devastating earthquake of 2010 struck the country. My husband was already living in the United States at that time, so I too relocated with our three children.

 

When I arrived in the United States, I had to begin my health care education over again. This time, I chose to study nursing, a decision of which I am most proud as it has become my favorite field of study. Throughout the past two years as a nursing student, I have fallen in love with the artful profession of nursing.
